Finally, a minister visits Parrey

Under fire for skipping the wreath-laying ceremony of Border Security Force (BSF) constable Mohommad Ramzan Parrey aka Rameez, Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Public Works Naeem Akhtar on Friday visited his injured father Ghulam Ahmad Parrey at the hospital to enquire about his health.

Constable Parrey of BSF's 73rd battalion was killed and four of his family members, including his father, two brothers and aunt, were injured when a group of Lashkar-e-Toiba militants stormed his house and attacked them on Wednesday night.

It was left to the BSF, Army and police officers to pay their last respects to the fallen hero while the political class displayed apathy and did not even participate in the wreath-laying ceremony at the Hajin Police Station on Thursday.

Akhtar on Friday finally visited the hospital to enquire about the family.
