A father-son duo, each carrying a reward of Rs 5,000 on them, has been arrested today for allegedly duping people to the tune of around Rs 20 crore on the pretext of providing low-cost apartments here, police said.

Surinder Dogra and Kunal Dogra, natives of Patiala in Punjab, were arrested from near Mahamaya flyover in Noida, DSP Raj Kumar Mishra said.

The duo had set up a firm with office in Delhi and had even hired employees. They offered low-cost flats in Greater Noida West and collected registration and allotment money, the police officer said.

In the last one year they had duped around 30 people and collected around Rs 20 crore from them. They had offices in Noida Sector 63 and Mumbai too and claimed to be investors for several residential projects in Greater Noida West, the DSP said.

In January, 2015, a case of cheating was lodged against them at Sector 39 Police Station in Noida. Mumbai STF too was involved in the investigation and it was revealed that the father-son duo had bought several properties in Dubai, the police officer said.

Investigation is on to find if the accused were involved in more cases of duping people, Mishra said.
