The expelled All-India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) executive member Maulana Salman Nadvi on Thursday formed a parallel Board which will have leaders from all communities and sects to solve their inter-religion and personal matters.

‘Manwata Kalyan Board’ is the name of the new body which will openly challenge the authority of the Muslim Board, the highest decision-making body of Muslims in the country.

Maulana Nadvi said that there was an urgent need in the country to form a progressive body in which prominent leaders and members from all communities and sects are included to solve all contentious issues with a humane approach and open mind.

Though Maulana Nadvi did not disclose names of those being included into the new Board he disclosed that a retired Supreme Court Chief Justice will head the Manwata Kalyan Board and prominent Muslim, Hindu, Christian, Jain, Sikh and other religious leaders and members of the society will be its members.

“The new Board will not only take up and resolve inter-religion and personal problems of the people of the country but will also take care of health, education and judicial matters of poor and downtrodden across the country,” he pointed.

The expelled AIMPLB member said that they will also set-up an Islamic University which will not only teach Urdu, Hindi but offer professional courses to shape up the careers of the youth in the country.

On Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s provocative and threatening statement, Maulana Nadvi said that the Spiritual leader has already denied issuing any such statement. “Spoke to him and he has denied that he did not mean what was reported by the media,” said Maulana Nadvi

Maulana Nadvi said that even though he has distanced himself from the mediating talks but he would continue supporting Sri Sri Ravi Shankar for a peaceful solution to the Ayodhya dispute outside court for peaceful co-existence of the two communities in the country. “Though he is making attempts but I don’t see any results. Better we wait for the Supreme Court to decide the dispute,” he added.

Maulana Nadvi was expelled from the AIMPLB last month when he met Art of Living Founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and advocated settling the Ayodhya land dispute case out of the Supreme Court by gifting land to Hindus.

He, however, took a U-turn a day after meeting Sri Sri Ravii Shankar again on March 2 saying that since the litigants involved in the case were not coming forward to resolve the Ayodhya row, he would prefer to support the Muslim Board stand to go by the Supreme Court verdict.

Maualan Nadvi had also hinted to join back the Muslim Board if leaders like Asaduddin Owaisi, Qasim Rasoll, Yusuf Machchala and Kamal Farooqui were removed from the AIMPLB. He accused them of promoting communal hatred in the country instead of harmony.
