A Dubai-based woman was booked by the police for allegedly demanding 4000 UAE dirhams from a city-based analyst after threatening him to release his nude video on a social networking site.

Police have registered a case against the woman under section 385 (putting person in fear of injury in order to commit extortion) of IPC and under sections 66(A) and 67(A) of the Information Technology Act.

As per the complaint lodged by the man (27), working as the analyst with an advertising firm, he had befriended the woman through online mobile applications when he had gone to a trip to Dubai earlier this month.

He told the police though he never met the woman in person, they started seeing each other on applications like Skype after returning.

During one such interaction, the woman recorded the man's video in buff and later threatened him to make it viral if he fails to pay the amount.

The man approached Chitalsar police station last evening. No arrest is made in the case so far.
