Dowry harassment case against Goa BJP VP

Panaji Women police have registered an FIR against BJP state Vice President Anil Hoble for harassing his daughter-in-law Sweta Hoble and demanding dowry.

Police have also booked Anil Hoble's wife Sandhya and his son Milind for the same offenses. Acting on a complaint filed by Sweta's mother, Panaji Women police visited Anil Hoble's house and rescued the victim. Medical report suggests that the victim was, indeed, assaulted.

After receiving a written complaint from Sweta's mother Suchitra Shirodkar, a police team went to Hoble's house at Merces and brought the victim to the police station.

Following the instructions of the police, Anil Hoble, Sandhya Hoble, and his son Milind Hoble also arrived at the police station.

In a statement recorded before the investigating officer, Sweta said that Hoble and his family was demanding a huge sum as dowry since her marriage in 2009. She also said that her in-laws had been physically assaulting and mentally harassing her for a very long time.

The trio has also been booked for criminal intimidation.
