1. Delhi Court convicts Peepli Live director Mahmood Farooqui of raping US researcher
A Delhi court on Saturday convicted 'Peepli Live' co-director Mahmood Farooqui of raping a 30-year-old US researcher last year. Farooqui, who was out on bail, was taken into custody immediately after the pronouncement of the judgement. Additional Sessions Judge Sanjiv Jain held Farooqui guilty of offence under section 376 (punishment of rape) of the IPC. Read more here.
2. Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah’s son Rakesh breathes his last in Belgium
Rakesh Siddaramaiah, son of Karnataka Chief Minister K Siddaramaiah, passed away inBrussel's Antwerp University Hospital on Saturday due to multiple-organ failure. Read more here.
3. Flood fury in Assam: 21 dead, 19 lakh people affected; Rajnath Singh, CM Sonowal conduct aerial survey

4. Indian Army foils infiltration bid in Kupwara; 2 militants, 2 soldiers killed
Army today foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control in Naugam sector of Kashmir's Kupwara district, killing two militants in the operation that also left two soldiers dead. Troops noticed suspicious movement along the LoC in Naugam sector during the intervening night and challenged the intruders, who opened fire, an army official said. Read more here.
5. Nepal: Madhesi leaders likely join new government
Some Madhesi leaders have hinted that there could be a possibility of joining the new government if the Nepali Congress(NC) and the Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist Centre(CPN-MC) makes a written commitment in addressing their demands pertaining to the Constitution. Read more here.
