Devotees on Wednesday joined the funeral procession of departed Sant Nirankari Mission head Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj as it proceeded towards the Nigam Bodh Crematorium Ground.

Sant Nirankari Mission has made provision for the live telecast of the last rites carried out at the crematorium which would be streamed at live.nirankari.org.

According to a press release issued by Sant Nirankari Mission, they have mentioned the details of the 'Antim Yatra', wherein the proceedings of the last rites would be covered from 8 AM to 12 noon. Post which a 'Shradhanjali Samaroh' has been arranged from 4 PM onwards.

Mortal remains of Avneet Setya, son-in-law of Baba Hardev Singh, who died in the crash too, were placed next to the mortal remains of Baba Hardev Singh.

On Tuesday, RSS paid glowing tributes to Nirankari saint Baba Hardev Singh, who died in a road accident in Canada last week, saying his contribution towards society, mankind and spiritual world would remain unforgettable.

In their joint condolence message RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and his deputy Suresh Bhayyaji Joshi said his demise has caused an irreparable loss to the spiritual world. "The departure of the Nirankari Baba is like an irreparable loss to a valuable asset of the spiritual world. His life in the Indian saintly tradition enlightened lakhs of people and will continue to do so for ages and his works in the service of humanity will continue to be carried out. On behalf of all RSS Swayamsevaks, we pray that his soul may rest in peace," they said in their message.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad also paid homage to the Nirankari saint and spiritual leader Baba Hardev Singh, with its leaders doing the last 'darshan' and offering their condolences in Burari. VHP International vice president Om Prakash Singhal expressed sorrow on the untimely demise of the leader who dedicated his entire life to world peace and humanity. He prayed to God to inspire everyone to follow his path and wished the departed soul may rest in peace.

Baba Hardev Singh, head of Nirankari Mission, was killed in a road accident in Canada on 13 May. He was the chief priest of Sant Nirankari mission.

Sikhism believes in following scriptures, but followers of Sant Nirankari movement which split from Sikhism in 1929 hold a living guru as their leader. He took over as the head of the mission after the assassination of his father and provided guidance to the disciples.

The mission is a global organisation with 2000 centres across the world.
