A 26-year-old mining trader has allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in the forest of Gopalpura village under Dabi police station of the district, police said today.

Naresh Rathore took the extreme step last night after he had lost Rs 14 lakh while travelling to home from Jaipur in a bus few days ago, SHO Dabi police station Sampat Singh said, adding that his body was found this morning.

A suicide note was also found from his body, in which he had stated that he had lost Rs 14 lakh while travelling by bus back to home from Jaipur a few days ago and left with no option to repay the lost amount but to end his life, the officer said.

Rathore had left home yesterday on his motorcycle around 5 pm but did not return home till late night following which his family members made calls repeatedly on his mobile but it went unattended.

His body was handed over to the family after postmortem and a case registered under section 174 of CrPC, the SHO said.
