Twitter was full of praise for the Indian army after it announced that 10 terrorists had been killed in cross-border encounters in the valley. Hailing the Army for keeping strict vigil, Twitterati said that they were thankful for the men standing at the border for the sacrifices they made every day. Naturally, some tweets were directed at Pakistan and the terrorist groups.

Earlier, the Army on Saturday announced that in the past 24 hours, 10 heavily armed terrorists had been eliminated.

As per reports in ANI, the Army said that operations by security forces have prevented attempts by Pakistan and Pakistan-sponsored agents to spread terror in the Valley in the run up to the holy month of Ramzan.

Earlier in the day, security forces dealt a major blow to Hizbul Mujhadeen on Saturday when they killed one of the most wanted commanders Sabzar Ahmad Bhat along with his aide at Saimoo village in Tral area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Bhat, who was the successor of Hizbul Mujhadeen leader Burhan Wani, was gunned down after security forces launched an operation in the Samoo village on Friday night.

Unlike his mentor Burhan, Bhat hailed from a poor family of Rathsuna village in Tral. He was a village boy who was radicalized before he joined the militants and rose from the ranks to become Burhan’s close aide. He, along with Zakir Musa, were touted to be two close lieutenants and advisors of Burhan Wani before he was gunned down on July 8 2016 in Bamdoora village of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
