Leaders of the Congress and the NCP met here today to discuss floor management of opposition parties during the Budget session of the state legislature beginning Monday.

State unit Congress president Ashok Chavan, his NCP counterpart Sunil Tatkare, the Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, his counterpart in the Council Dhananjay Munde, senior Congress leader Patangrao Kadam attended the meeting.

The Budget session will start with the Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao's address to the joint session of both Houses on March 6.

The state budget will be presented on March 18.

The session begins against the backdrop of the BJP's spectacular success in the elections to the civic and local bodies, and the bitter fallout between the ruling allies BJP and Shiv Sena.
