Shiv Sena leader and Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) Mayor Rajendra Devlekar today alleged Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has failed to keep his promise of allocating a Rs 6500 crore package to the civic body.

"Fadnavis had promised the Rs 6500 crore package during the last (2012) civic elections. However, till now not a single penny has been received by the civic body," said Devlekar whose party is ruling the KDMC in alliance with the BJP.

The Mayor claimed he had personally called on the CM at least four times to take the follow-up, but to no avail.

Addressing a rally in Thane recently, the CM had stated to have kept his promise on allocating Rs 6500 crore.

Devlekar said he would complain to Governor C Vidyasagar Rao in this regard.

Shiv Sena and BJP are contesting upcoming civic polls separately sans any alliance.

Elections to ten civic bodies, including Mumbai, and 25 zilla parishads will be held in two phases on February 16 and 21.
