The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today arrested an associate planner with CIDCO and an architect for allegedly demanding and accepting bribe of Rs four lakh.

The accused demanded the bribe from a complainant for issuing an Occupancy Certificate for a building in Ulve area in Navi Mumbai, said Deputy Superintendent of Police, ACB Thane-Navi Mumbai, BS Sonawane.

Following a complaint, a trap was laid at the office of the architect Hemant Davale and he was apprehended while accepting the bribe on behalf of the planner Jagdish Patil, he said.

Patil was also arrested. A case under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act was registered, the officer said, adding a probe was underway.
