The CBI registered fourth FIR in Unnao rape and murder case against Shashi Singh and her son Shubham, who allegedly took the victim to the arrested BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar on the pretext of getting her a job.
A close aide of the arrested BJP MLA, Shahsi Sigh was produced in the special CBI Court by the investigating agency on Tuesday after arresting her. The court has given four-day remand to the CBI for interrogation.
Earlier, a team of CBI went to the Makhi Police Station, victim and Sengar’s houses to collect evidences. The investigating agency also talked to several villagers and those who could throw some light on the case. A forensic team from Delhi also reached Makhi village to help CBI collect evidences against the accused.
After the arrest and remand of Shashi Singh, the CBI is likely to produce Sengar’s brother Atul Singh Sengar at Special CBI Court to seek his remand. The CBI is now trying to piece together a sequence of events and recreate the scene of crime on that fateful day in June last year when the BJP MLA, his brother and others had allegedly raped the victim.
After seeking remand of the BJP MLA’s brother Atul Singh, the CBI plans to interrogate him in the presence of the Sengar, victim and her family.
The investigating agency has also summoned then Beat Incharge of Makhi Police Station for questioning and took out call detail records of six suspended and arrested policemen to check if any of them were in contact with the BJP MLA, his brother and his close aides during and after the crime.
