CBI arrests five for possession of 158 kg cannabis

The CBI has arrested five persons for alleged possession of 158 kg (approximate) cannabis with value of about 15 lakh in domestic market.

CBI spokesperson RK Gaur said here today that a case was registered against five suspects, all residents of Panipat and Kurukshetra in Haryana, for illegal possession of cannabis.

The agency intercepted the gang at Saharanpur Railway Station, Uttar Pradesh while they were travelling in Sealdeh Express, he said.

The CBI sources said approximate value of the contraband is Rs 10,000 per kg in domestic market.

During search, 158 kg of cannabis (Ganja) was found in their possession, Gaur said.
