Praveen, the brother of alleged Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist Sandeep Sharma, was taken into custody for questioning after it was found that Rs two lakh had been deposited in his bank account some months back, the police said.

Investigation has shown that the money had been deposited from Mumbai in Praveen's bank account in Haridwar in Uttarakhand, police said.

Praveen, who hails from Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh, is a taxi driver in Haridwar.

He is the brother of Sandeep, who was arrested by the Jammu and Kashmir Police in the Valley earlier this week for allegedly being an activist of Pakistan-based terror outfit LeT.

Sandeep alias Adil, an expert in looting, was involved in criminal and militant activities and became a "hardcore terrorist in the sense that he accompanied LeT terrorists in three actions", according to Inspector General of Kashmir Police Muneer Khan.
