Boy receive burn injuries as miscreants set house on fire

A boy received burn injury when unidentified miscreant allegedly tried to set fire to his house at Duarsuni village near here in Kalahandi district early today.

Chandan Naik, aged around 15 years, was sleeping in a room when unidentified miscreants threw petrol through a window and set fire in the wee hours, causing him injury, police said.

The family members extinguished the fire and admitted Chandan to the hospital at Bhawanipatna, they said.

Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Bhawanipatna, Biranchi Dehuri said the boy is out of danger.

While no FIR has so far been filed by by the family members in connection with the incident, but police can take up investigation on its own on the basis of medical report, the SDPO said.
