The saffron flag waved in Dharavi again, as Shiv Sena managed to win three of the seven wards in the biggest slum pocket of Mumbai. Congress stood second by winning two wards, followed by MNS and NCP with one seat each.

TM Jagdish from ward no 185, Vasant Nakashe from ward no 186 and Mariammal Muturamlingam Thevar from ward number 187 managed to secure a win. While Congress candidates Ganga Mane and Haji Babu Khan bagged ward no 183 and ward no 184 respectively. Vakil Ahmed Shaikh is the NCP candidate elected from ward number 188 and Harshal More of MNS was elected from ward number 189.

Residents of Dharavi believe that Sena won the seats in Dharavi because the party had selected Tamil candidates to represent them. However, this move contradicts party's one time campaign against the South Indians in the maximum city.

However, Congress choose a minority leader as they were sure of minorities choosing the contestant.
