The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday lashed out at the Trinamool Congress (TMC) for calling National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval a 'RSS sympathizer', and said that the party is attempting to derail ongoing investigations against it.

"Rather than apologizing for the corruption engaged in by their leaders, the TMC is not only protecting them but also trying to derail the investigations by giving it a political spill," said BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao.

"This shows the frustration of the TMC. The Burdwan blast actually indicates the extent of terror network in the state of West Bengal, how it has become safe sanctuary for terrorists. TMC is trying to divert the attention of the people," he added.

Rao further said that the TMC is rattled by the revelations about its leader's involvement in unlawful activities and therefore reacting out of panic.

"The kind of statements that the Trinamool Congress leadership, especially West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her spokespersons are making over the last three to four days, show panic reaction in the TMC. The party and the West Bengal Governments seem to be rattled by the revelations," Rao said.

Meanwhile, commenting on the same issue, Minister of State for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, "I don't understand what is wrong with TMC. Mamata Banerjee is justifying rather than correcting all that is going wrong in West Bengal."

Earlier, the TMC national spokesman and Rajya Sabha member Derek O' Brien had reportedly said that the NSA is a known 'RSS sympathizer'. He has also reportedly alleged that happenings in West Bengal in recent times are being planned and approved by the RSS Head Quarters.
