Bike borne youth swept away in overflowing rivulet in Bundi

A motorcycle-borne 23-year-old youth was swept away while crossing a flooded rivulet of Ramashawar Mahadev waterfall in the district, police said today.

The incident happened last evening and his body was fished out this morning, about five kilometres away from the spot from where he was swept away, they said.

According to SHO Dablana police station Pawan Kumar Meena, Prithviraj Baret, a resident of Jhadkas village of the district, along with his brother-in-law was returning home last evening on a motorcycle.

During which, they came across the rivulet which had flooded the link road, as he tried to cross the road, he lost his balance and was swept away by strong current, while his brother-in-law, who was riding pillion, managed to jump away, he said.

Though the rescue operation to find Baret was launched last evening but it was called off at night due to darkness.

The operation resumed today by the Kota municipal corporation personnel and his body was recovered from a bush, about five kilometres away from the spot, the SHO said, adding that his motorcycle was recovered yesterday, few meters away from the spot.

A case was registered and the body was handed over to his family after post-mortem today, he said.
