Union Minister of State, Ministry of Ayush, Shripad Naik is of the opinion that Ayurveda should be adopted as the main medical practice for treatment of diseases and not as an alternative. The three-day festival is being organised by the Union Ministry of Ayush, National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur and National Ayurveda Students and Youth Association (NASYA, a unit of Vijnana Bharati). Around 3,000 youths are participating in the festival.

Highlighting the scope of Ayurveda, Naik urged young practitioners, studying Ayurveda, to stay confident and seriously pursue their carrier because in future they will be in huge demand from different departments including Railway, Labour and Border Security Force.

On the occasion, medical and health minister Kalicharan Saraf said that Rajasthan is the first state where Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Greek, Natural and Yoga medical techniques are being taught.
