Alarm bells are ringing for India's security forces in Jammu and Kashmir as the militant group the Lashkar-e-Toiba has released two new videos featuring some of the new crop of militants. In one of the videos LeT militants are seen trekking through the snow at the undisclosed high altitude mountains.

The video featuring six to seven heavily armed militants are seen walking in knee deep snow without being detected. With no voice over, the video has Jihadi Taranas eulogizing martyrdom, and paradise running as background score. The militants are also seen throwing snowballs at each other as a recreational activity at the high altitude mountain.

In another video, militants possibly from the LeT and Hizbul Mujahideen are holding a joint meeting in a well laid out room at an undisclosed destination. The militants are seen entering one by one possibly to avoid detection by the security forces and are then seen warmly hugging and receiving each other in this room. Both videos went viral after they were circulated on various social media platforms.

Speaking to DNA, Dr SP Vaid, Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir, said that there was no need to be alarmed and they were in process of identifying the militants in the video.

"We are working on it and yes some new people are also in it (video). We will identify them and proper identification will let us know where it was shot. There is nothing alarming about it (video) as it has been happening before. This time it is video, as earlier there was no video system," he said.

Official figures reveal that 59 youth have joined the militant ranks after the unrest began on July 8 when the Hizbul Mujhadeen's poster-boy Burhan Wani was killed in an encounter at Bamdoora village in Anantnag district of south Kashmir.

Currently there are around 250 to 300 militants operating in Jammu and Kashmir. Last year, close to 150 terrorists were killed in 97 encounters between militants and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir last year.
