After Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi three-day visit to his parliamentary constituency Amethi, BJP stalwarts including party President Amit Shah and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will descend there on October 10 to make inroads into the Gandhi bastion.

BJP President Amit Shah has planned to hold rallies in all seven parliamentary constituencies which the party had lost in 2014 Lok Sabha polls. He is beginning his campaign on October 10 from Amethi which will naturally impact adjoining Rae Bareli, the parliamentary constituency held by Congress President Sonia Gadhi. Amethi and Rae Bareli were the only two seats Congress had won in 2014.

Union ministers Smriti Irani and Nitin Gadkari will also accompany Shah during his visit to Amethi. The BJP State President Mahendra Nath Singh, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dr Dinesh Sharma will also be there with Shah and Yogi Adityanath. Though Smriti Irani had lost to Rahul in 2014 but she had managed to reduce Congress Vice-President’s victory margin from 3.7 lakhs to 1.07 lakhs votes.

During the Amethi visit, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will launch projects Smriti Irani had promised to people of Amethi. Among projects which will be launched by them include Sainik School, a FM radio Station, three ITIs at Tiloi, Jagdishpur and Gauriganj and two Agriculture Science Centres. The Chief Minister will also lay foundation stone for construction of a dam in Pipri village.

Sources claimed that once Rahul Gandhi came to know about the BJP plan, he rushed and made an unscheduled three-day visit to Amethi to warn his constituency people about BJP’s game plan. Shah’s visit was planned much ahead. It was due to this reason Amethi district administration had showed inability to provide security to Rahul on such a short notice.

The Congress Vice-President during his three-day visit had alleged that BJP leaders were out to credit of worked done by him and the UPA government in Amethi. He showed a list of about a dozen projects whose foundation stone was laid by him but BJP was now trying to take the credit by inaugurating them on October 10.

Rahul said that he had laid foundation stone for FM Radio Station, 200-bed hospital in Tiloi, Sanik School in Gauriganj, Rajiv Gandhi Civil Aviation National University in Fursatganj, new SAIL unit in Jagdishpur, Institute of Hotel Management and Central School.

“They have nothing to showcase as their achievement so they are inaugurating projects launched by the UPA to misguide people of the country,” he alleged.

“If Rahulji was so concerned about the people of Amethi then he should have ensured to get these projects completed during his government. Modiji not only lay foundation stone but also ensures that he inaugurates that projects,” reacted Vijay Bahadur Pathak, BJP State General Secretary to Rahul’s charge.

After Amethi, Amit Shah plans to hold rallies in Azamgarh, Kannauj, Mainpuri, Badayun and Ferozabad to make a dent into Yadav-clan held Samajwadi Party parliamentary seats.
