The Aam Admi Party has questioned covering of photos of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other AAP ministers on billboards and hoardings publicising government-run schemes.

In line with the State Election Commission's order ahead of the April 23 municipal polls, officials on Friday obscured the words "Aam Aadmi" from Delhi government-run schemes on display, and even covered photos of Kejriwal and Health Minister Satyendar Jain on some of the hoardings and billboards at Mohalla Clinics, which was not part of the order.

Reacting to it, a senior AAP leader alleged: "MCD is working under pressure from the BJP."

To this, a senior MCD official said, "We are only following the instruction of the SEC."

The Election Commission's order had come on a complaint filed by Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta with it.

"The nomenclature of the clinics and bus service named after the Aam Aadmi Party is sure to influence the mind of the voters in favour of the ruling party," Gupta had written in a letter to the state election commission.
