3 J&K stone-pelters arrested in Delhi

The Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested three persons for pelting stones in Sopore district in Jammu and Kashmir. Among the arrested, Yawar Muzaffar Bhat, is a released militant and was earlier arrested by the J&K police for carrying pistols and grenades.

"The three have been identified as Yawar Muzaffar Bhat alias Yawar Tanga (21), Waseem Majeed Dar (21) and Danish Hasan (22). The trio was arrested from South Delhi's New Friends Colony on Monday. They have pelted stones, damaged public property, and attempted murder and rioting," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell), Pramod Kushwah.

According to the J&K police, the three had fled Kashmir to evade arrests. "Yawar's father is a drug peddler and three warrants of Public Safety Act (PSA) have been issued against him but could not be executed. In fact, all the three are drug addicts," said Sopore SSP Harmeet Singh. Waseem Majeed has two cases against him in and Danish Hasan Dar has three.
