Twenty-five people have been booked after a brawl between two groups during a 'Samman Samaroh' organised here to honour a youth who had hoisted the tricolour at haj house, police said today.

Officiating senior superintendent of police Salman Taj Patil said Lakshya Tanwar, member of a righting outfit had hoisted the tricolour.

When the brawl broke out during the 'honour ceremony' organised at Dudheshwer Nath temple, two abbots-- Yati Narsinghanad Sarswati of Kali Devi Mandir of Dasna town and Mahant (abbot) Narayan Giri of Dudheshwer nath temple-- were also present, he said.

Cross FIRs have been lodged by the two groups, police said, adding Sarswati and Giri have also been booked.

Five persons were arrested by Kotwali police but were later allowed to go on the directions SSP Deepak Kumar, the officer added.
