Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter, Chanda Yadav, allegedly showed the official residence of Bihar Chief Minister as her address even 10 years after her family vacated the bungalow. She used the address in the documents related to the multi-crore mall scam, according to senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sushil Modi.

Modi has challenged Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to take action against Chanda Yadav as well as her two minister brothers who allegedly countersigned the documents.
“Lalu’s family vacated 1, Anne Marg, in Patna after the RJD’s defeat in 2005 Bihar Assembly elections. However, as late as in September 2014, Chanda Yadav, showed it as her official residence in the capacity of a director of Delight Marketing Company Private Limited (which is now LARA Projects LLP owned by Rabri Devi and her sons),” Modi said, supplementing his charges with documents.

The BJP leader added that Chanda’s documents were countersigned by her brothers -- Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, the Deputy CM of Bihar, and Tej Pratap Yadav, Health Minister -- as is evident in the documents. “Were they not aware that they don’t live in the CM House any more?” Modi said and challenged Nitish to take action against his cabinet colleagues too.

Modi made fresh allegations of corruption against the Yadav family on Tuesday stating that they granted favours in exchange for acquiring posh properties in the state capital. Modi claimed that Lalu’s family was “gifted” several plots of land in Patna in lieu of facilitating a businessman to set up a liquor factory here during Rabri Devi’s rule.

“During Rabri’s rule between 2000 and 2005, businessmen O P Katyal and Amit Katyal had set up a liquor factory Iceberg Industries Private Limited at Bihta, Patna. In 2006, the Katyals formed A K Infosystems Private Limited with family members as directors. But in June 2014, all shares were transferred to Rabri and Tejashwi, who along with Tej, Chanda and their sister Ragini were appointed as directors,” Modi said adding that Lalu should answer the why and hows of it.

Modi alleged that the Yadav family got the company, which owns land worth crores of rupees in Patna today, for helping Katyals set up the liquor factory. “Helping anyone while being in office in order to get benefits in the form of property/land/money etc comes under the purview of Prevention of Corruption Act,” he said and reiterated that similar was the case with Delight company, which had got land in Patna from Kochar brothers in lieu of contracts to run railways hotels.

Modi has demanded a joint probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation, Income Tax department and Enforcement Directorate into the allegations made by him.
Lalu, on Sunday, had said he was ready for any probe.
