In a shocking incident, 200 Muslims have fled Dantal village after the death of a folk singer. The incident triggered unrest between Hindus and Muslims.

According to a report in NDTV, trouble erupted there on September 27. After a priest and his friends allegedly killed the Muslim folk singer, at least 200 Muslims have fled the Rajasthan village and are living in a shelter for the homeless in Jaisalmer.

The trouble started after the local priest accused Ahmad Khan, a folk singer, of making mistakes while reciting hymns. According to the police, the priest and two his brothers killed Khan. While the priest Ramesh Suthar has been arrested, his brothers are absconding.

20 Muslim families left the village and have refuse to return home. District Collector KC Meena, meanwhile said: “We are trying to get the two communities to talk to each other so that the issue can be resolved.”
