A flying squad of Maharashtra Excise Department today seized 20 boxes of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 2 lakh being ferried in an ambulance and arrested one person in this connection.

The IMFL boxes were being transported in an ambulance when it was intercepted in Indira Nagar locality by a flying squad led by Excise Inspector Manoj Chavan, an official press release stated here.

A total of 20 boxes worth Rs 2 lakh were seized from the van and one person was arrested, it said.

The liquor stock, which was brought in Maharashtra illegally, was being sent to Dadra and Nagar Haveli, the release added.
