Two elderly pilgrims on their way to the cave shrine of Mata Vaishnodevi died due to suspected heart attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district today.

68-year-old Laxman Kadam of Madhya Pradesh suddenly fell down and became unconscious near the helicopter ticket counter at Bhavan and was immediately shifted to a nearby dispensary, a police officer said.

He was declared brought dead by the doctors at the dispensary, he said, adding after legal formalities the body was handed over to the family for last rites.

In another case, 79-year-old Baj Nath Pandit of Jharkhand suddenly fell down and became unconscious at Adhkuwari on way to the cave shrine and was declared brought dead by the doctors at the hospital, he said.

The body has been handed over to the family after legal formalities, he said.

As per the reports, both died due to suspected heart attack. Although, the medical reports are still awaited.
