Two alleged drug peddlers were today arrested from north Kashmir's Baramulla district, the police said.
During a routine checking at Wanigam in Baramulla, a police party intercepted a truck and seized 2.5 kgs of poppy straw from it, said a police spokesman.
The driver of the vehicle, Umer Ali Dar, and another person, Ishfaq Ahmad Kaboo -- both residents of the Sheer Colony in Sopore -- were arrested.
A case was registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, said the spokesman.
