WATCH: John Boyega and Scott Eastwood get war ready in first trailer for 'Pacific Rim Uprising'

Taking up the baton from Idris Elba, as his son in Pacific Rim Uprising, John Boyega brings out Jaegers to fight Kaiju monsters in a new trailer for the movie directed by Steven S. DeKnight.

The trailer is set to a thumping version of Vince Staples' song 'War Ready.' Jake Pentecost (John Boyega) is following the footsteps of his estranged father Stacker Pentecost (Idris Elba in 2013 original movie). He is now in charge of a massive Jaeger, giant robot machines, handled by humans to defend against humongous Kaiju monsters.

Stacker backed Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi) in 2013 original version. This time around, Mako will be returning the favour by backing his son, Jake.

Jake is seen teaming up with Nate Lambert (Scott Eastwood) to co-pilot a new Jaeger by the name of Gipsy Avenger. Combined with three other Jaegers with equally kickass weapons, the young guns look ready to take on evolved Kaijus as shown towards the end of the trailer.
