The Last Jedi: John Boyega roots for Yoda spin-off

Boyega wants the creative forces behind the Skywalker saga to visit the Old Republic just like games and novels.

Actor John Boyega said he wants the iconic Star Wars character, Yoda, to get his own solo film detailing his origins.

The 25-year-old actor said there are a lot fan theories which can be taken as a source material for writing the movie.

"I think they need to go back to the Old Republic, how they do in the games, and discover what's going on there," Boyega told Collider.

"There's some cool stuff in the Star Wars universe they can use, there's cool fan theories they can use that could be part of the movies too, I mean, why not? Personally, I want to see a Yoda origin story," he added.

The actor will next be seen in Star Wars: The Last Jedi alongside Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie.
