Dr Deepali Bhardwaj, a Delhi based dermatologist, became the youngest recipient of the annual medical excellence award by Delhi Medical Association (DMA), on Sunday. Dr Bhardwaj won the award for her work on anti ageing and skin allergies. The 33-year-old is the Honorary Dermatologist to the President Estate Clinic, Rashtrapati Bhawan.

Dr Bhardwaj is currently conducting research on vaccines for skin allergy cases which are rising due to increasing pollution in Delhi. She is also known for her innovative anti-ageing treatment called Dr D facelift. “This is a three-day procedure with a down time of two days that involves use of a cocktail of lasers, platelet-rich plasma, and injectables. This can make one look 10 years younger. I learned this treatment in Iran,” said Dr Bhardwaj.

She has also been credited for bringing to Southeast Asia the TCA Cross therapy, a chemical reconstruction of acne scars.

Her practice includes performing skin biopsy, skin allergy tests, acne treatments, scar removals, skin rejuvenation, anti-ageing treatments, hair transplant, and lasers for hair reduction.

She has received recognition for her contribution in the field of dermatology in India and outside: European Mentorship Award by Centre of Excellence for Allergies, Munich, Germany, Karamveer Award in 2015 and Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Award in August in 2014.
