Once the world’s heaviest woman, 36-year-old Eman Ahmed is now able to move her lower limbs, something which she wasn’t able to do since her stroke over two years ago.

Eman has also shown significant psychological improvement according to her doctors and is now eating on her own and is seen smiling often.

Eman is currently being treated by a team of 20 doctors at Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi headed by Dr Nehad Halawa.

The hospital in a statement released on Sunday said that speech therapy and treating her bed sores were part of the short-term plan for her treatment while making her use the electric chair to allow for mobility is a part of the mid-term plan.

Corrective surgeries for lower limbs, plastic surgery for redundant skin and possible aortic valve replacement are a part of her long-term recovery plan.

Eman’s mother arrived in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, joining her sister Shaimaa Selim who has constantly been with Eman.
