With the panel consisting of talented film personalities from the world of cinema, Zee Cine Awards 2017 endeavors to celebrate and honor all outstanding performers that have amazed, inspired and raised the bar on Indian cinema to greater heights this year. The jury is a true reflection of the varied celebration of cinema who combine expertise from the field of direction, film technicians, music and production.
Famous producer, Boney Kapoor has numerous Bollywood films like Hum Paanch, Woh Saat Din, Pukaar, Company, Mr. India, No Entry, Judaai and Wanted to his credit and presently producing Mom. He has also launched several stars in the Hindi film industry. Talking about his association with Zee Cine Awards, Mr. Kapoor said, “It’s an honor to be associated with the prestigious Zee Cine Awards 2017. It’s my privilege to stand along with such eminent dignitaries from the world of cinema and acknowledge the best talent. Resul Pookutty is a film sound designer, sound editor and mixer. He along with Richard Pryke and Ian Tapp won the Academy Award for Best Sound Mixing for Slumdog Millionaire. He has worked in Hollywood, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam cinema. Resul said, “It gives me great pride to return on the jury panel for Zee Cine Awards 2017. Last year, the jury ensured that the best were awarded and this year too, we will safeguard the fair and authentic practice of the selection process. Several performances are well-deserving, and it will be a tough task to select the winners in each category.”
Ace cinematographer, Sudeep Chatterjee ISC, known for his work in films like Dor, Chak De! India, Guzaarish and Bajirao Mastani said, “I am impressed by the growing pool of talent, creativity and technical excellence in our industry. Director Pradeep Sarkar known to make offbeat films such as Parineeta, Mardaani and Laaga Chunari Main Daag is a par excellence director, writer and the man behind hundreds of popular ad films. He said, “I’m honored to be a part of Zee Cine Awards 2017. The entire jury panel shares a common passion – Cinema! Our collective views will ensure only the finest emerge as winners.”
Kavita Krishnamurti Subramaniam rocketed to stardom as one of the most versatile and technically gifted female singers in the music industry with songs like Mr. India’s ‘Hawa Hawai’, Yaraana's ‘Mera Piya Ghar’ and Khamoshi's ‘Aaj Main Upar’. Kavita said, “Zee Cine Awards celebrates the evolution of creative thought and the art of expression. I’m privileged to be a part of the jury and look forward to selecting the best.”
Tigmanshu Dhulia is known for his socially relevant films such as Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster and Paan Singh Tomar. Dialogue writer, director, actor, screenwriter, producer and casting director is popular as he strikes a balance between commercial imperatives and creative ambition. He said, “The Indian film industry has always been about telling great stories. And, there cannot be a better place to celebrate this than Zee Cine Awards.”
National Award winner Swanand Kirkire wears many hats with rare composure - Lyricist, scriptwriter, dialogue writer, music director, singer and actor.
