He’s redefined denims
Stylist Rick Roy, who’s himself a big fan of denim feels that the classic is extremely versatile - whether it is the shredded version or its plain and polished variation. “It adds a certain amount of casual touch and takes away from the formality of any look. Shahid has been doing a very good job with his style appeal compared to his co-stars in Rangoon. It’s quite an evolution from how he used to dress up,” he says. Shahid’s style shows an element of comfort given his leaner physique.
A clean grunge
Stylist Akshay Tyagi feels that Shahid has evolved with his play of denims while staying true to his signature rock grunge space. “It’s great, minimal and tone on tone and the fact that he’s worn very different pieces with denims makes it special.”
A reference point for skinny aspirants
Stylist Isha Bhansali feels that any guy who’s itching to rock a pair of ultra-skinny denims should look at the Kapoor boy. “He’s rocking the unforgiving skinny jeans, which a lot of Indian guys aren’t confident of. I want other guys to look at him and imbibe inspiration. The jackets and kurtas he’s been wearing are cool, but I want everyone to look up to Shahid,” says she.
Designer Falguni Peacock from Falguni and Shane Peacock label seconds that, “It’s tricky for Indian guys to wear a pair of skinny denims. At the outset, Shahid had a very usual style, but now with his beard and skinny denims, he looks Italian, The beard is working for him and the fact that he’s well-groomed takes it several notches up.”
