Looks like there's trouble for South superstar Kamal Haasan. A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed against the actor in the Tirunelveli district court by Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) for allegedly hurting the sentiments of the Hindus.

As per a report on IndiaToday, on March 15, a police complaint was registered against Haasan by HMK at the Chennai City Police Commissionerate for his alleged derogatory remarks about the Hindu epic Mahabharata. Kamal had stated in his interview with a regional channel, "The country reads about the book in which a woman (Draupadi)  was used as a pawn and was gambled away," which was taken as a dig against the mythological epic, adds the report.

Reportedly, HMK has claimed that Haasan's remarks may incite enmity between groups and cause disturbance to public peace. The HMK even called Haasan anti-Hindu and also questioned if he had the guts to speak against the Bible or Quran in the same way.

Recently, Kamal Haasan was also in the news as his elder brother Chandrahasan had passed away in London following a cardiac arrest.
