Hugh Jackman, Wolverine for the past 16 years, slowly started exposing the fandom to his last movie as the invincible mutant. First came the look, the name of the movie and the release date. Then came retweets and regrams of director James Mangold's series of gritty black and white images. On Wednesday, Jackman tweeted a 7-second teaser with a promise of trailer release on Thursday. Before they could do so, the perfect marketing plan was marred by a video leak.

Nevertheless, the new official trailer is finally here. Let's dive into it.

Set to Johnny Cash's 'Hurt', the trailer takes us to a town which resembles something out of a Western. It only lacks the tumbling weed. There are no mutants left and old man Logan is in hiding. He has PTSD for god's sake. Charles Xavier is no better.

But then Charles, oh frail old Charles, finds someone who is 'really' like Logan. Now it's Logan's responsibility to save the girl from Pierce, played by Boyd Holbrook, who is presumably working with an organisation making the most out of weaponising mutant kids.

Logan, Charles, and the girl (Elise Neal) are not alone. Logan will get help from Caliban, an albino mutant who is very good at locating other mutants. Caliban is played by Stephen Merchant.

Set in the year 2024, (do not bother with the timelines. We were doomed the minute X-Men: Days of Future Past released), Logan slowly gives in to saving the girl and by the time we reach the end of the 1.47 minute long trailer, we hear Charles say, "Logan you still have time."

Yes, you do, Logan! After watching this trailer, which clearly shows that makers are cashing big on their R-rated certificate (thanks, Deadpool!), nobody would want you to retire.

Psst... also, if as Charles says in the trailer that she is 'really' like you, it means she is probably X-23. In this case, she will have 'a regenerative healing factor, superhuman strength, senses, speed, and reflexes'. Also, retractable adamantium-coated bone claws in her hands and feet! Sounds like a cloned daughter, doesn't it? So why not stick around to spend some time with her?

Sleep on it mate!
