Shocks after shocks were revealed in the new trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.

Chris Pratt aka Peter Quill aka Star-Lord unveiled the new trailer on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday morning (IST). The trailer puts focus on the guardians as a family, Ayesha, and Seed as the main villains, and introduces Kurt Russell as Ego aka Peter Quill's father.

The guardians are back and this time their characteristics have been refined and the traits have been dialed up to eleven!

They meet Ayesha and Rocket wastes no time in rubbing her the wrong way. One wink with a wrong eye and the guardians have made a new enemy. Dude!

The second time galaxy saving will need additional hands if Rocket wants to hike up their fees. So it seems Yondu, Mantis, and Nebula are part of the team now, no matter how much Gamora's sister hates it.

Towards the end of the trailer, we get our first look at Kurt Russell as Ego, Peter Quill's father. The very angel his mother likened him to in the first movie.

Along with Pratt and Russell, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Dave Bautista as Drax, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, and Vin Diesel as the adorably fierce Baby Groot are returning for the second movie directed by James Gunn.

The cast is joined by Pom Klementiff as Mantis and Elizabeth Debicki as Ayesha, and Chris Sullivan as Taserface.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 will hit the theatres on May 5.
