Karan Johar was on Barkha Dutt's show The Town Hall, where he opened up to Dutt about various topics, including his sexuality and his relationship with Arnab Goswami. But then, Dutt decided to talk about what was on everyone's minds - Karan Johar and Kangana Ranaut. And he was more than willing to talk about it.

Kangana, who was on Koffee With Karan with Saif Ali Khan promoting Rangoon, called Johar a 'flag-bearer of nepotism', saying he was part of the movie mafia. Johar has constantly been trying to defend his stance on the statement and Kangana has been lauded for her forthrightness.

Johar told Dutt that he felt like he was being attacked. "She was the missile and I was the target" was what he said, following it up by saying that she clearly chose his show as a platform to express what she had to say and chose him to say it and "she had clearly memorised those 12 lines and came".

Johar then went on to compliment Kangana by saying that she is an exceptional talent and he highly respected her as an actress, but if she had the right to express his opinion, he did too. “She had an opinion, she is an exceptional talent and I have always said that. She has her opinion and she said it. Two weeks later, I was given a platform and I said what I had to. I don’t know what to say, what she meant, whereas I have never crossed paths with her beyond here and there. She decided to choose me, to make her point which is fine,” he said.

Johar was referring to his discussion during his visit to the London School of Economics, where he called Kangana out on playing the victim and the woman card. Johar then said that while he and Kangana hadn't spoken since then, he isn't mad at Kangana and he's sure she isn't mad at him either, and he would surely invite her to his next party after forgetting to invite her to his last one.
