The greatest joys of life are often the simplest... the touch of a loved one, a mother's hand on a fevered brow, a hug from a friend, a gentle kiss on the cheek from my son, watching a great sunset and most of all things shared with our near and dear ones.
All the wealth in the world cannot buy you these simple pleasures as these are gestures of love and reverence world over with no sell-by date.
I hold nothing above family and truth be told, would happily give my life for my family and country as I am an out-and-out patriot. What is a life if not given in sacrifice to the motherland or a loved one. I love life, but am just as curious of the afterlife, so if my journey in this one is done, I embrace the unknown for the adventure I know it promises to be.
My own personal motto is try and live as many life times in this one we have,it will evolve you to go into the next having faced all the challenges that this life throws at you, with fortitude. Karmic cycles are born of this very thought, so don't play safe go out there feel all there is pain, joy, anger, frustration, challenge and most of all, love. We are all tested one way or the other the way we handle life's challenges is what sets us apart.
I feel most of us mark our lives at the saddest points and rarely at the happiest. Why? Perhaps because we forget to say I am happy when one is, but dwell deeply on the melancholic and sad as it seems to make us stronger with an inner strength that we draw upon.
I muse about life and its mysteries today as it is my birthday and as another year slips by on silken gossamer wings, I feel prone to an equilibrium that we have to keep things on an even keel to exist but elevate it to spirituality to truly enjoy life and find meaning, knowing deep down that everything will make perfect sense only at the end, like a great movie or book or indeed life itself....
