Simbu is like my brother, says actor Vishal

The Nadigar Sangam has been in the spotlight the last few weeks thanks to the celebrity cricket match they held to raise funds for constructing the office building. On Wednesday, the Nadigar Sangam office bearers had a press meet to thank the media for their support.

At the meet, they also addressed the two controversies that have being doing the rounds since last week. The first was with regard to actor Simbu quitting the organisation. Simbu had cited the Nadigar Sangam not doing anything for him during his time of crisis as the reason for quitting. Vishal, who is the General Secretary of the Nadigar Sangam, said that Simbu deciding to quit the association was new and that he loved Simbu as an actor and brother. But what will happen next remains to be seen. There was a rumour that Simbu and Vishal don't get along and that it was one of the reasons why Simbu quit the Sangam. 

The second issue which raised was about Thala Ajith not attending the cricket match at which all the other top stars, including Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, were present. There were rumours that Ajith had made disparaging remarks about the cricket match. Vishal addressed this as well, saying that they respected Ajith's decision to not attend the match. Ajith has never attended any public function, so it was surprising to see this raised as an issue. Interestingly, Vijay also didn't attend the match.
