It was an epic day for Shahid Kapoor's brother Ishaan Khattar, who's making his acting debut in Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi's film Beyond The Clouds. Big bro Shahid and Ishaan's mother Neelima were present at the film's mahurat in Colaba's Mukesh Mills to cheer him along with music composer AR Rahman.

Shahid seemed elated and spoke to the press on how happy he was that his brother had got such a sought-after launch. "I don't think Ishaan could have asked for a better debut. Majidi is one of the best directors in the world, and I am really happy that Ishaan is working with him," he said.

Shahid also met Majidi and expressed his gratitude for casting his brother. He also extolled praises on the filmmaker and admitted to being his fan. The Iranian filmmaker complimented Shahid on the trailer of his upcoming film Rangoon and he expressed his wish to watch the film too.

Celebrated for noteworthy films like Children Of Heaven (1997), The Color Of Paradise (1999) and Baran (2001), Majidi has been visiting India for the past couple of years to zero in on suitable locations and cast for his Hindi film. "It's a big day for me because I've been wanting to make a film in this land of marvels for many years. There are a lot of similarities between Iran and India; that's why I wanted to work here. My cinema has received good reception from Indians. Finally I'm in Mumbai with a lovely team to narrate a story woven around the lives of common people," said Majidi.

On Ishaan he shared, "He is a talented guy, and I am sure he will become a big actor in Bollywood." Here's hoping that this debut vehicle gives Ishaan the success and spotlight he deserves.
