Rana Daggubati's eight hour training schedule!

Rana Daggubati has been going through intensive martial arts training since the past six months for Bahubali. Even before the shoot of the magum opus began, the lead cast of the film was told that they would need to be flexible, swift and quick with movements along with knowing certain weapon use since Baahubali is a war film with alot of action sequences. Also, no body double was allowed to shoot for any sequence hence actors had to be trained well. Talking about it Rana says, "Peter Hines the action director for Baahubali, had me training with three special fighters from Vietnam - Tang, Son and Luck for about six to eight months".

They used a combination of mixed martial arts and weapon training. The actual choreography for the action scenes began after this where several new techniques and methods for horse riding, chariot riding and others were used which are needed in a period film action sequences. Also, these action scenes are injury prone so it is better to be trained in advance." The training continued on set later while shooting as well. They were trained by Vietnamese martial arts experts who also helped them combat injuries and speedy recovery process. Rana trained in scaling walls and Mace weapon use and had to train for a minimum of eight hours a day.
