'Kabali' Hindi remake to star Amitabh Bachchan?

Rumour mills are abuzz that Amitabh Bachchan will be seen essaying the protagonist in the Hindi remake of Rajinikanth's recent release, Kabali.

Reportedly, the Hindi dubbed version of Rajini's film hasn't done as well at the box office as the South Indian versions. Hence, a full-fledged Hindi version is on its way with Amitabh Bachchan playing the aging don.

According to a report on the Hindustan Times, a source close to the developments informed, "Bachchan will star in the remake of Kabali. The reason Rajini’s Tamil films don’t do well when dubbed in Hindi is because they are very culture-specific. Kabali is set in the Tamil community in Malaysia. The flavour, culture and dialogues are all peculiar to the Tamil community.”

While Rajini plays a don who fights for the rights of Tamils in Malaysia, it will be interesting to see the setting of the Hindi remake.
