Prithviraj-Vedhicka's 'James and Alice' introduces a new concept in Malayalam cinema

James and Alice starring Prithviraj and Vedhicka has opened to mixed reviews. The director of the film is debutante Sujith Vasudev who seems to have made an honest attempt to introduce a new concept in Malayalam cinema. The film deals with the relationship between the protagonists James and Alice and takes us through their life before marriage and life after marriage. As expected, there is plenty of drama and emotions but at 2 hours and 50 minutes, the movie is tediously long.

Prithviraj in an interview had stated that the script of James and Alice is challenging and that's why he accepted the role. The movies takes us through the couple's life as lovers, then as a married couple and then as parents. The evolution in their relationship is interesting to watch. 

There has been a lot of appreciation for Prithviraj as James but a little disappointment with Vedhicka as Alice. The music by Gopi Sundar seems to have fallen in this film.
