Tamil films have always been a great source of entertainment. Not only does the audience get to see close to 200 films release a year, now, with social media, fans online are treated to some hilarious memes and GIFs as well.
Three Chennai youngsters, Anush Rajasekaran, Lavanya Mohan and Sudharshan Vadhanan, have been doing exactly this.
The trio are big Kollywood fans and decided to channel their crazy sense of humour into the Twitter handle @KollywoodInGifs.
Actor-turned politician Vijaykanth (or Captain as he more popularly known as) is a favourite source of entertainment for many, including Anush Rajasekaran. “I made two Captain-related GIFs when his yoga video came out and quite a few people liked it. Since Sudharshan and I always talk about Kollywood movies and relate it to our personal lives, we thought it would be fun to start off something like this. Lavanya had already been doing these Kollywood GIFs. So the three of us spoke and here we are!” smiles Rajasekaran.
The three decided to combine a Kollywood GIFs with real-life situations.

“Every possible scenario you have or will ever face in your life is there in Tamil movies. Right from digging your nose, to sitting on the bonnet of a flying a car AND posing for the camera at the same time?” laughs Rajasekaran.
Rajasekaran says that they watched a lot of movies and movie clips online and realised that somewhere, some time either they or their friends have been in the same scenario.
“We come up with the captions purely based on experience,” he adds. Many of their GIFs have become popular on Twitter.
