The bulk of the replies came from Indians, who loved that Kal Penn used a Bollywood reference

Harold & Kumar star Kal Penn tweeted out a post, which was alien to Americans, but Indians on Twitter went absolutely ballistic.
The actor, whose birth name is Kalpen Suresh Modi, compared White House Press Secretary Mike Pence to Kantaben from the Nikhil Advani-directed Kal Ho Naa Ho. The movie that stars Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta has Kantaben, played hilariosly by Sulbha Arya, looking horrified at the bromance shared between Saif and Shah Rukh.
Mike Pence reminds me of Kantaben from "Kal Ho Na Ho"

People, who saw the tweet, were amused by the reference. Here were some of the responses.
@kalpenn I truely feel sad for the folks who won't understand this reference, just awesome

@kalpenn This is absolute gold. Especially for the people who actually have seen the movie

Nikhil Advani, who follows Kal Penn on Twitter was equally amused. Here's what he said.
Hahahaha... I will always have the bgm playing in my head now when I see him standing next @realDonaldTrump. @karanjohar https://t.co/7DOmnC73CM
