Jackky Bhagnani to start his own production house

Jackky Bhagnani is following in his producer father Vashu Bhagnani’s footsteps. He is set to launch his own production company to produce films. He started his career as an assistant director and then made his debut as an actor in his father’s production Kal Kissne Dekha (2009). 

So why does he need his own production house? Says an insider, “Vashuji belongs to the old-school style of filmmaking. The kind of films he wants to make are very different from the kind of films Jackky wants to make. There is a creative clash, so he decided to launch his own banner so he is free to make films that interest him.”

The source further adds, “Jackky wants to make small-budget, but high-concept films, while his father believes in making big commercial films with all the trappings that come with it. Jackky wants to hire fresh, young talent in writing, directing and acting. He is very inspired by his friend Riteish Deshmukh and how he has evolved as an actor and now a filmmaker. He doesn’t want to make senseless films with huge budgets. He wants to spend money according to the requirement of the film. He wants to have creative control, which he didn’t have in Vashu’s banner Puja Films. The actor is friends with many stars including Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor and wants to make films with them.” 

The actor, who plans to launch his banner this year, confirms his plans, “Yes, but it is too soon to talk about it.”
