Nawazuddin Siddiqui is undoubtedly one of the most talented actors in the country. Last year he gave riveting performances in two extremely contrasting performances in Badlapur and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
But the popular awards largely eluded the actor. Nawaz says he has stopped thinking of awards. “I won’t pretend that it didn’t bother me. Of course I was disturbed. It’s frustrating when one works so hard and the work is not acknowledged.”
However, Nawaz has reconciled to the tragic fact that perhaps awards won’t come his way. “Maybe the awarders don’t know how or where to slot me. I am used to being sidelined for the awards now. It is enough for me that my performances are appreciated by the masses. Bass, aur kya chahiye?”
Does Nawaz expect awards for his performance as a real-life serial killer in Raman Raghav 2.0? “Ho toh badhiya hai. Na ho toh aur badhiya hai,” quips Nawaz.
